It is shocking to read that almost half of Chinese food-processing plants fail to meet internationally acceptable standards. A recent article on CNN.com discusses food safety in China. The article mentioned that the quality control specialist AsiaInspection states 48.1% of inspections in China failed in 2014 to meet requirements as set by Western retailers and food companies. This information makes us all want to be more aware of where our food is coming from. If food is coming from a country that does not have the same health and safety standards as the western world it might be a good idea to investigate how the company enforces western health standards or inspects your food before your next purchase.
